Kindergarten Turtles: March 24-28, 2025

Greetings, Turtle Families,

It has been a wonderful first full week of spring. The classroom was beautiful as the warm spring sun shone through the trees in the afternoons. With the warmer weather, handwork has been available more often, and several children have been busy sewing and beading. These activities are great for developing fine motor skills and foundations for mathematical thinking. Some of the children have very specific ideas about what they want to create, and it is lovely to see their skills with a needle improve.

The students have also been busy on the platform, cutting the art we made together into small pieces to make it into the turtle mosaic picture. The paintings and drawings, along with several different sizes of hole punches, have been available, and they have been punching and sorting the circles for our auction project.

On Friday, we had our first visit to the creek! The children had so much fun playing on the beach and with the water.  As always, our first trip of the season involves lots of cleaning, as the beach has not been visited in months. The children were eager to help care for the environment.

Thursday, we celebrated Jack's 5th birthday. His parents visited our class to share stories and wishes for Jack. Happy Birthday, Jack!

We look forward to hosting friends and family for Grandfriends Tea on Friday!
