Kindergarten Honeybees: March 24-28, 2025
Dear Honeybee Families,
We had a fun and busy week in the Honeybees class! The students have leaned into the lovely Spring weather. On Tuesday, we found a chrysalis hanging from a tree in our outdoor classroom. The children have noticed lots of insects starting to reemerge after the winter has ended. On Wednesday, we had picture day! We had the full class in attendance for our class photo. That afternoon, we also went to see the animal dioramas made by Fourth and Fifth Grade students for their Human and Animal Block. It was fun to support our friends in the grades and learn about the animals they studied. On Friday, we visited the creek for the first time this year. We played in the sand rather than in the water, but we are looking forward to playing in the water again soon!
Looking ahead to next week, we have Grandfriend’s Tea on Friday! We are so excited to share our class with some of the special grown-ups in the children's lives. This is also a half-day and the day before the start of Spring Break! We will be adding two new circle songs when we return from break.
Announcements & Reminders for the Honeybees:
Rest mats will be sent home this week to be washed. Please return them on our child’s first day back at school after the break.
As the weather is warming up, the Honeybees are drinking more water! Please make sure you're sending two water bottles to school with your child.
Creek Shoes: As the weather warms up, please start returning your child's creek shoes. Ensure that they still fit comfortably to support their adventures.
Weather Preparedness: The weather continues to shift unpredictably. Please send rain gear and dress your child in layers daily. It is always easier to shed a layer than to warm up after getting too cold.
4/4: Half Day: Grandfriend’s Tea 11:00 a.m.
4/7 - 4/11: Spring Break (No School)
4/25: Annual Auction Fundraiser - Half Day
4/26: Community Work Day
Wishing you all a joyful week ahead!
With warmth and gratitude,
Ki Peden
