Fourth & FIfth Grade: March 31 - April 4, 2025
Dear Fourth and Fifth Grade Families,
Welcome back from Spring Break! I hope everyone had a restful and refreshing time. A heartfelt thank you to all who attended our Grandfriends’ Tea before the break—your presence made the event so special. The students did a wonderful job with their presentation, and we are so proud of their hard work and enthusiasm.
Before the break, we kicked off our Play Block! The students read through this year’s class play script and participated in various theater games and activities to prepare for their roles. They are now working on learning all parts, and official roles will be assigned soon.
In math, students continue to build confidence in long division and fractions as they complete their final fractions workbook. It has been exciting to see their enthusiasm grow, with many students even expressing excitement about fractions! In language arts, we continue reading The Game of Silence by Louise Erdrich, deepening our discussion and connection to the text.
This week, students will continue play practice and rehearsal. On Tuesday, we will take our first field trip of the year to the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary, which ties into our Human and Animal studies. Looking ahead, next week, we will visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, which should now be beautifully in bloom, as part of our Botany block.
