Middle School: September 7-11, 2026
Dear Middle School Families,
Thanks so much to all of you who attended curriculum night last Wednesday.
The students have now completed two weeks of Astronomy. Our latest main lesson pages have been on the Circumpolar Constellations, those 6 groups of stars around the North Star, Polaris, that are always visible at any time of night throughout the year. The students are busy writing planet/star reports. Report writing is an important part of middle school, giving students the opportunity to dig deeper into a topic that interests them while practicing their research, organization, and writing skills. It is always rewarding to see how much they learn through the process. The rough draft is due on Monday, Sept. 14th, and the final draft is due on Thursday, Sept. 17th.
Together, the Middle School class is playing Irish folk music on our recorders and singing a song from The Wizard of Oz. In Woodwork, the students are carving eggs, and in handwork, they are making masks. The next block, when we come back from Fall Break, is Legends of King Arthur.
