Joyful Beginnings: January 13 - 17

After the winter break everybody enjoyed being back at the Garden School. The first day of the week was very exciting for Joyful Beginnings. We welcomed a new student to our class and we also celebrated Jack’s birthday with a fruit smoothie as a special treat for the class. Then we went into the garden and found that the dry creek had turned into a river. The entire class used this opportunity to wade through the creek and play extensively in the mud.  On Wednesday, we transplanted herbs and helped Middle Grades to move the spiral garden to a new location. On Friday, we enjoyed making music, playing with snowflakes, visiting the big playground, and having tea outdoors.

In the classroom, we are currently working on increasing the independence of our students by introducing new routines into our daily rhythm and helping the students to dress themselves. You can assist us in this process by labeling your child’s clothing items. Please also make sure that your child wears slippers with rubber soles or other designated indoor shoes for the time we are spending in our classroom.
