Welcome back to the Garden School of Marietta! It feels so good to be back on campus! The new school year has brought some exciting changes for our second-grade class with new classroom platforms by the creek, and Aurora and Lucas joining our class. The children were happy to see each other again and had a good time learning together and playing in the forest.
During class, we practiced handwriting and sight words. We drew self-portraits to have a record of how the students looked at the beginning of the school year. On Friday, we learned about the correct use of watercolor supplies and painted a butterfly with yellow and blue. The afternoon was spent in the creek until it was time to go home for the Labor Day Weekend. After easing into our routine this week, we will be ready on Tuesday to dive deeply into our first language arts main lesson block.
Next week, remember to bring:
practical, rubber-soled indoor shoes to keep at the school
sunscreen and bug spray
a second set of clothes
two water bottles
a snack and a lunch
a big smile
Best,
Ki Gaby
