Fourth Grade: January 5 - 7

Dear Fourth Grade Families,

Happy New Year to all of you! I hope everyone enjoyed their time together over winter break!

While it was wonderful to be back together on campus this past week, we will be even more excited today to have everyone back together.  We entered into the new semester more slowly than planned as several students were out of school.  For any extended absences, there will be lessons and practice work posted on our Google Classroom. I shared our new spring semester schedule via our classroom this past week. If you need help to access it, please let me know.

This past week, we shared and wrote about our holiday break, worked at the farm to help Ki Rachel and the third graders following our long break, reviewed the relationship between multiplication and division, and began to memorize the basic division tables. The students quickly grasped the relationship and practice went well. We ended the week with a fun game of multiplication bingo.

This week, we dive back into a language block based around the Norse Myth stories.  We will look back at the gods and goddesses we have met thus far and their various characteristics and meet more and hear stories about many of them. Woven in these blocks is writing a proper paragraph, parts of speech, and learning to use transition words effectively. Our morning math will continue to focus on basic division tables as well as working with all four processes during our practice. We will begin a new handwork project with Ki Ieva, and continue learning in all our specialty classes!  We are happy and excited to be back at school together!
