Hello First Grade Families,

Last week we wrapped up our second Alphabet block. We worked on forming words by putting the sounds of various letters together. We closed our block by introducing the letter “X”. This letter was memorable because the class was surprised with a treasure hunt from a map we found left behind by pirates who had buried the treasure and marked the spot with “X!” Lastly, it was wonderful to wrap up the week by seeing all the families from our school at our Thanksgiving picnic celebration.

This week we will be starting our second Numbers block. We will introduce adding and subtracting through games, songs, some stories, and some untold adventures.

Last week the weather brought us to spend more time inside that we have all year. The students adjusted quite well and adapted so that we were able to continue accomplishing great learning. Please continue sending them with their outdoor layers and boots as we will be outside every day!
