Hello First Grade Families,
While the Thanksgiving break surely was nice for everyone, the students were all excited to see their friends and be together again. They all seemed eager to get back to learning too. We began a new numbers block and worked on adding and subtracting using stories and songs. We sharpened our counting skills by counting the number of sticks that we needed to make our fires. We also used the game of hopscotch as a fun way to work on our number skills. Next week, we will go further into adding and subtracting numbers. We will use gems, dice and more.
Additionally, the Winter Spiral is right around the corner and the students will have that event to look forward to. Our time slot is Thursday at 9:30am. Please join us to watch the students walk in and carry their light out into the world. We also hope to see you at our school assembly on December 15th!
