Dear Second-Grade Parents,
The week before our mid-winter break went by very quickly. The students were excited to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day on Monday. They decorated Valentine’s cards and folded them into little envelopes to take home to their families. The Valentine snacks provided by our class parents were well received. At the end of our celebration, Julian handed each student a heart-shaped semi-precious gemstone that he had brought from home.
In our math block, the class looked at patterns in times tables and drew multiplication flowers into our main lesson book. On Thursday, during outdoor education with Ki Rachel, the students went on the swimming platform and paddled across the pond and back. Ki Rachel was impressed by their teamwork.
Thank you to all parents for the flowers and other contributions to our Valentine’s celebration on Monday. Thank you also for coming to the parent-teacher conferences. It makes a huge difference!
I wish you a relaxing mid-winter break!
Friday, March 11, is a teacher in-service day; there is no school
