Dear First Grade Families,

Welcome! The first-grade class immediately became friends. Every student readily accepted one another and became great friends instantly. It was a great start to the year. This week we had our first set of learning adventures. We began to understand the importance of a straight line and a curve line and how they are connected to so many things in life. We read stories that helped us notice the different line shapes around us.

Next week, we will continue with our experiences with the straight line and the curved line. We will also continue drawing our lines using our bodies, on different paper, and on our chalkboards. The class will hear more stories and discuss the various lines we noticed in the stories. We will also begin our full specialty class schedule next week!

Our schedule (subject to change) is posted below. We will talk more about this and what your children are busy doing during these times during our Parent Night. Remember, our school day begins at 8:35 in the Grades program! Please make sure your child comes to school on-time and prepared! Each day there are many, varied activities, and being ready for all types of weather, bringing 2 full water bottles, and always wearing proper footwear and clothing is essential to a productive and happy day full of fun.
