Greetings Turtle Families,
Last week was a great full week of school. On Wednesday, we had an exciting visit to the farm and the big playground. On our way to the farm we counted eight mallard ducks swimming in the marsh. When we arrived at the farm, some grades students were there completing their chores. It was nice for our students to see the older students hard at work. As we were leaving, Ki Derek arrived in the school’s ATV. The children were very excited to get a close look at it. On Thursday and Friday, our older students began Golden Knights. They enjoyed this time, spent with the older students from the other kindergarten classes. The “flood grounds” have receded, and the children spent time each day exploring what had been changed by the flood and finding the treasures that were left behind. The children found a baseball and spent some time playing baseball using sticks for bats.
On our platform, the children were busy all week with handwork. Many kept busy stringing beads and buttons for necklaces and sewing. Some students made bow ties, others made balls and gifts for family members. The children are proud of their creations, and we hope that you have enjoyed seeing them come home.
We had oatmeal on Monday and Thursday last week. Oatmeal was new for our Thursday students and they all enjoyed it. This week we will have soup on Wednesday (because we were out of school on Monday) and Oatmeal on Thursday. Thank you for remembering to bring your vegetables on Friday. It was great to share the vegetable chopping with our MWF students.
February 4th is our All School meeting, please see the Main Messenger for more information . This is an event for our entire community and all families are asked to attend. We share in a soup bar, compliments of our faculty and staff, and focus on the State of the School. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us!
