Hello First Grade Families:
The class is enjoying our Language block. Last week, we read stories about a clever farmer and the way he approached and won many challenges. We also read a story about Rose Red and Snow White and how they met a bear that ended up being an enchanted prince trapped in a bear’s body. These stories in our language block allowed us to be introduced to more challenging words. We learned how to spot them, sound them out and even spell or read them. Next week we will hear about a brave sister who set out to free her brother and we will read a story called The Carefree man.
The students have really done well, and it is exciting to watch them learn all of the new material. As a reminder, please give your first grader lots of warm clothes along with full body rain protection every day.
This Saturday, February 4, is our All School Meeting (adults only, please)! Following our community workday, we ask you to please join us at 12:00 for a faculty-sponsored, complimentary soup bar before we join together to hear about the “State of the School” at 12:30. As an added incentive, each family represented receives 2 volunteer hours.
