Dear Second Grade Families,
Happy Tuesday! Last week, we continued to review place values of thousands, hundreds, tens and ones. We have been practicing using the four processes with larger, multi-digit numbers. While reviewing subtraction, students delighted in pretending to be mischievous goblins, taking hundreds of jewels from the castle! We also continued to listen to Jataka Tales. Students especially loved hearing “The Monkey and the Crocodile,” a story of witty battles and tricks between the animals!
As a special treat, we had the opportunity to see miniature dwellings the third and fourth-grade students built at home for their block on Shelters Around the World. The second-grade class loved listening to the other students present about their building processes and the history of the type of homes they built. Connections like this between the classes are always heartwarming!
