Greetings, Turtle Families,
Welcome back. It was so nice to have the children in class again. They were all so excited to play and talk with their friends. We started a new circle about winter weather. Our songs and verses introduce us to King Winter, Jack Frost, some busy woods folk, and several animals who are preparing for the cold. I have included the Jack Frost verse from our circle below. We also began a new story, the Ukrainian folktale, The Mitten.
Please continue to send students with waterproof winter clothes and waterproof, warmly-lined shoes/boots every day. Following significant rainfall, our classroom tends to have puddles, and the children cannot safely play in the forest without warm, waterproof clothing during the colder months.
We look forward to you joining us for our Early Childhood Curriculum tonight, Tuesday, 1/16, at 6:00 pm via Zoom. We will be discussing the spring calendar and brainstorming ideas for our spring auction project. If you have ideas, please be ready to share them. These ideas have been brought so far – wooden toys, mosaic stepping stones, beaded mobile. We are looking for a project that can be a collaborative effort utilizing the skills and talents of parents, children, and teachers. We will also review the spring calendar, highlighting upcoming events and important dates to remember.
