Dear Honeybee Families,
We had a short but fun week in the Honeybees class. On Tuesday, the class enjoyed the extra mud in our forest classroom left behind from the rain the week before. On Thursday, the children got to pick characters from our story about the dragon who visited a village and act it out. They enjoyed reciting their favorite lines. We also started a new morning circle for Autumn. One of our new songs is:
Here is my trunk, I’m a tall, tall tree
In the autumn, the apples fall from me
They drop, they drop, they drop
Here is my trunk, I’m a tall, tall tree
In the winter, the snowflakes fall on me
They glisten, they glisten, they glisten
Here is my trunk, I’m a tall, tall tree
In the springtime, the blossoms bloom on me
They bloom, they bloom, they bloom
Here is my trunk, I’m a tall, tall tree
In the summer, the breezes blow through me
I bend, I bend, I bend
This week, we will start a new story. This story is a Native American folk tale about the origins of the rainbow. We will tell the story this week and then turn it into a puppet show and play the following week. We will also be making necklaces from felt this week. We will be enjoying our regular rhythm: going to the farm on Monday and Thursday, vegetable chopping on Tuesday, and painting on Wednesday.
