Dear Sixth Grade Families,
The Sixth Grade class has fully stepped into our Play Block as the class prepares for their presentation of A Merry Adventure of Robin Hood. The students have memorized their lines and are working on projecting their voices, building how they play their characters, and solidifying their movements and gestures on stage. This play is a comedy, so when practicing lines with your children, please work on timing, inflection, and facial expressions so the audience can understand the jokes. It’s always fun to watch the class play come together, and this year is no exception! We hope you will join us on Tuesday, May 14th, at 5:30; students need to arrive by 5:00 so they have time to change. Our cast party will follow the play at the picnic tables.
This week, our class is taking the CTP from ERB. The students took the practice test in the previous weeks, learning about the type of questions asked and the format for taking a standardized test. It’s been a positive experience for both the class and the school. The information collected will help direct instruction for the coming years of middle school and help ensure our students are prepared to enter high school in two years. As this is our first time going through this process, we appreciate your patience as we learn the ins and outs of the assessment tool and the process of submitting and reporting scores. Each student's results will be shared with their family.

Please help your child practice their play lines at home.
Remember to help your child practice their typing skills at least 4x a week.
While we do not have a Creekcess day in Middle School, the class will take advantage of the warm days and head to the creek when our schedule allows. Please help make sure your child has a change of clothes and water shoes at school every day so they can enjoy the fun!
Please send two full water bottles to school daily; students feel the warmer temperatures and drink a lot of water!
