Greetings, Honeybee Families,
It’s hard to believe that it’s the last week of school! The school year flew by, and many beautiful, long-lasting memories were made. Friendships were formed and we grew together both individually and as a class. It’s wonderful to see how far we have come!
Last week was full of fun activities for the children. We added mint to our planter; it was a fragrant activity. The children also experienced removing that which has finished its growth cycle, and saving seeds for next year, and replenishing the small garden with new growth. In the same light of growth and cycles, students made caterpillars by wrapping wool roving around pieces of pipe cleaners. Some children also made felted wings that could come off and on. This craft was inspired by our story about the caterpillar who metamorphosed into a beautiful butterfly.
For Mother’s Day, the children put all their heart into working on a special Mother’s Day pop-up card. Each child put much thought into their flowers and message; it was so endearing to be able to be their scribe. The class also delighted in painting their terracotta flower pot and gluing the mosaics onto them. The children then got to pick their flowers, and once they placed them in their pots, their eyes lit up with joy. We hope our dear mamas feel loved and special on Mother’s Day (and every day!). We appreciate all that you do.
May the bees and peace be with you,
🌻🐝
