Kindergarten: March 16 - 20

Dear parents,

Wishing you and your families ease and comfort as you are making necessary adjustments to your schedules and trying to set up new routines. May you all be safe and able to find the time for rest and renewal.

Thank you for the feedback as we try to navigate and set up this online classroom with the intention to help keep your child in a familiar rhythm, meanwhile bringing joy and peace to your home. We love hearing your feedback, if you have any questions or suggestions, please contact us at our garden school email.

Weekly recap:
This week Ki Amy shared a heartwarming story based on the Persian New Year, Nowruz, which is celebrated on the Spring Equinox. It's nice to hear that some of the children have enjoyed listening! I've attached a picture of my "Haft seen" which is mentioned in the story, and the green sprouts that we grow. Everything we put on our holiday table symbolizes health, success, rebirth, and wellness for the new year and coming of Spring. It was a different kind of celebration this year, being unable to gather together, but it was nice still.

We also provided some fun creative and practical work for your child to do at home this week. Our creative work included naturally scented play dough- a very simple recipe that includes ingredients you likely already have at home. Our practical work was grating soap, a timely activity that the children love to do.

Ki Holly shared with us her famous bread recipe also! We'd love to know who has tried it!

We also recommended a bird watching activity, it's nice to get outside during this time and take in the natural world around us and hear the sound of Spring!

Thank you to Ki Cerina and Ki Paulyna for upoloading some songs for the children to do at home.

As Holly mentioned in a previous note, our intention is not to overwhelm you! Please know we want to make this transition as easy for your family as possible, and are only making things available for those who find it helpful.
