Thank you so much for your donations to our class scarecrow. It turned out wonderfully and, most importantly, we had a lot of fun making it! Special thanks to Kristine Marie for helping us build the scarecrow, Brittany Ott for organizing, and to Ki Kim for making sure we got great photos of the process and end result. We do have more photos of the scarecrow fun; if you would like them please let me know and I will email them to you.
This past week our class started a new weekly activity: On Tuesdays we will be working in the garden at the learning farm. We are preparing the garden for the spring planting season by digging and removing rocks and grubs. The students enjoy feeding the grubs to the chickens and seeing how full we can get the rock bucket. We also get to say hello to the farm animals and pet the sweet donkeys. This first week, a couple of students even had the opportunity to feed the donkeys a piece of banana peel! This practical work is beneficial for the students and doing physical work in the sunny garden will warm us up as the days get cooler. We were able to work in the garden on both Tuesday and Thursday this week and the students really enjoyed it!
