Kindergarten Turtles: October 18 - 22

Greetings Turtle Families!

Friday was a particularly busy and fun-filled day for the Turtles.  Please enjoy some Friday Highlights below :)

We started our day with our Fall Morning Circle, which includes a song that compliments our story from this week.  It is called “Rosy Apple”:

My nice red rosy apple

Has a secret, hidden scene

You’d see if you could look inside

Five rooms so neat and clean

In each room there are living, two pips so black and bright

Asleep they are a’dreaming of lovely warm sunlight

We then painted with the color blue.  While talking about things that are blue, the children gilded their paintbrush (Tippy) across the paper, experiencing the deep, coolness of blue and creating beautiful works of art.

After painting the children enjoyed our weekly puppet show from our story called “The Little Red House.” A small boy goes on a journey to find a little red house with no windows and no doors and a star inside (an apple!).  The children were able to see the star inside their very own apple during snack time.

We then went to the garden and continued our practical task of digging rocks and collecting grubs.  The donkeys stood outside the garden enclosure and allowed the students to stroke their soft ears, the tops of their heads, and their backs.

Thank you SO much for helping to supply materials for and/or building our Turtle scarecrow on Wednesday.  It was wonderful spending time with all of you :) Thank you, also, for our time spent during conferences.  I hope all of you have a clear picture of your child’s happy time at our magical woodland school!
