Joyful Beginnings: October 4 - 8

Dear Joyful Families,

Our unofficial theme for this week was mud! The teachers and co-op parents who joined us watched on with glee as the children sloshed their way through puddle after puddle. A sweet and surprising highlight of the week was when one of the children fell face first into the mud and, instead of eyes filling with tears, their face lit up with the muddiest, lighthearted smile. Another highlight was witnessing two of the children adorn themselves with mud pie hats! Our outdoor time was spent with so much laughter and playfulness this week.

We started a new story this week about Mother Earth’s Autumn blanket that she busily weaves to keep her children warm during the colder months. We also built upon our Autumn circle, adding songs to further support the change of season. It was such a treat to see the children fully engaged with our circle, including imitating some of our songs during free play. This week was rewarding for all.
