Kindergarten Beavers: September 13-17

Greetings Beaver families!

Another wonderful week passed in the Beavers class. The weather finally cooperated to give us a chance to visit the creek. We collected our mud kitchen items into a little basket and went for our adventure. The children had fun playing in the sand, collecting special stones, splashing in the water, and trying to catch the little fish. On another day, during Ki Maria’s Spanish class, there was much laughter as the children put on a puppet play with la jirafa and la vaca (the giraffe and cow). Through song, they learned how to greet each other in Spanish and introduce themselves.

On Friday, we visited the animals and fed them bananas, apples, and carrots. We also observed some of the vegetables growing in the garden- okra and squash! We gathered feathers the chickens left on the ground for a craft project. Also on Friday, the children watched a puppet play of a fairytale from China they heard over the course of the week called, “The Most Beautiful Thing in the World.” The story later turned into a scavenger hunt when our treasure went missing. The children collected together and drew treasure maps, searched all over the forest for our little treasure, and they found it! It was magical.
