Greetings Turtle Families!
We had the most lovely time in the forest this past week getting to know one another! The children enjoyed exploring the mud kitchen area and using all of the scoops, spoons, bowls, pots, pans, pitchers and more. A large puddle on the edge of our play area allowed ample opportunities for splashing, stirring and creating mud kitchen specialties.
We had our first Spanish lesson with Ki Maria, where the students learned how to greet one another, heard a fun story, sang a song and played a game. A few students already knew some Spanish words and were excited to share their knowledge. Way to go, Turtles!
Our story this week was called “Bernie Bear.” A fun twist on Goldilocks, the children enjoyed hearing about the curious bear who lost his way in the woods and happened upon an empty cottage. Upon entering, he saw three bowls of porridge on the table - one was too hot, one too cold, and the other just right :)
Below are the words to our opening song in Morning Circle. Perhaps your Turtle can sing it for you!
Good morning dear earth
Good morning dear sun
Good morning dear stones
And the plants, every one
Good morning dear trees
And the birds flying free
Good morning to you and good morning to me
Good morning to you and good morning to me
Reminders:
We will be playing in the creek on Wednesdays. Please make sure to pack creek shoes!
Please send your child’s indoor shoes next week. I will collect them during the morning or afternoon carpool.
Kindly,
Ki Amy
