Joyful Beginnings: January 24 - 28

Dear Joyful Families,

Last week we welcomed back many of our classmates from their kindergarten observations. We dug up worms, and fearlessly climbed on the climbing dome- higher than ever before! We also stopped each day to appreciate the beautiful new bench that was installed at Liza’s loom. The children enjoy the spot daily, whether to help with its maintenance, or just to pay a visit. Soup day was a hit once again, and we wrapped up our story about King Winter and the Wise Gnome providing warming soup for all of the hungry woodland animals.

This week we look forward to the introduction of a new puppet tale. Grandmother February busily knits the earth a cozy blanket to keep the tiny bulb babies warm in the ground until spring. With the help of Brother Wind, they tuck each one in for the last leg of winter. We will also observe Candlemas with a song and some candle making, as we anticipate the return of light in the northern hemisphere.
