Dear First Grade Families,

Happy Monday!

Last week, continuing our language arts block, students listened to a wonderful read-aloud titled “The Two Brothers.” Students then wrote short sentences based on the story and practiced reading them. They are using these pages to make their very own small books to practice their reading at school.

Additionally, we have been practicing how to distinguish between short and long vowel sounds. Last week, we learned a new song to help us with this! We will continue to work with vowel sounds as the year progresses.

It’s Parent/Teacher Conference week! Wednesday–Friday are half-days. Pick up is at 12:30pm. Thank you!
Next week is Mid-Winter break. No school February 21-25th.
