Fourth Grade: March 28 - April 1

Dear Fourth Grade Families,

Research reports and dioramas were a success!  It was a joy to watch each student stand in front of the class, read their reports, share about their dioramas, and answer questions from their classmates.  Each student did all the above successfully and with little (if any) hesitation.  This past semester, they have been reading their journal entries aloud, often while standing in front of the class.  This practice has helped to make group speaking a more comfortable, common experience for all, and their self-confidence is showing more and more.

Along with presenting research reports, we dove back into fractions following our Key To Fractions Book 2 lessons.  When we return from our spring break, we will continue working in these books while we focus on preparing for our class play.

Grand Friends Tea was a successful morning as well and students enjoyed sharing their school setting with their guests.  The class played our school song on their ukuleles; thank you to Ki Lesley for teaching and leading our class!

Reminders:

  • No school next week for Spring Break

  • Permission slips for our class field trip to the CNC (4/13) are on Transparent Classroom

Please send:

  • deet-free bug spray to school for your child

  • two water bottles every day, and extra clothes (socks too!)

With gratitude,

Melissa
