Dear Third and Fourth-grade families,
Last week the class contemplated the concept of time and worked on telling and measuring time with an analog clock. The students visited the 2’s, 4’s, and 8’s tables throughout the week. During morning warm-ups, they practiced spelling calendar vocabulary words.
The third-graders dug a deep hole for clay by the Garden with Ki Matan. They aim to build a house with clay and straw that will be big enough for them to stand in. The students are very excited about this hands-on building project.. The fourth-graders continued working on the frame of the rabbit hutch and started putting in a floor. Last week, we also began with painting lessons. The students painted Adam and Eve eating the forbidden apple in Paradise. Then, they painted their expulsion from the Garden of Eden, using different colors to depict the dramatic events.
This week we continue discussing the measurement of time, historically and in modern times. The students will work together to answer related math questions. We will also review place-value with higher numbers and practice rounding numbers.
Thank you very much to all the families who could join us last Saturday during the workday. Our class got a lot of work done on campus!
