Dear Second Grade Families,
Happy Tuesday! Last week we continued to review our times tables through movement and recitation. We also began our new English Language Arts block and continued to practice complex spelling patterns. We focused on words that end with -ed and -ing, and discussed their meanings. The children delighted in listening to and discussing a wonderful story, “The Fox and the Grapes.”
Last week we celebrated Nolan’s half-birthday in class- happy birthday, Nolan! Our class shared what makes Nolan a special part of our school family. His peers admire how he is a loving friend who always sticks up for us, makes hilarious noises, and loves to play freeze tag!
We also celebrated Akasha’s birthday- happy birthday Akasha! Our class shared what makes Akasha a special part of our school family. Her peers appreciate how she always plays fairly, keeps friends company when they are lonely, and always has her arms open for a hug!
