Greeting Dear Beaver Families,
It’s good to be back together after our week-long break. The forest turned green while we were away. The children are delighted with all the new plants and creatures returning to our space. We spotted fuzzy Bunny Tail Grass seeds, flowering trees, ladybugs, and lizards! We also began our new spring circle; the students are quickly absorbing the words and singing along. Our first song is about the growing green grass and segues into the various creatures we will find therein including a grasshopper, butterfly, rabbit, squirrel, and bee. All these creatures have their own gesture and the favorite seems to be the squirrel that waves its tail- this gesture induces lots of giggles each time.
Thank you parents for helping with our class auction project- we are so excited to see the final product of all our combined efforts. The children have made their stars for our lovely felted crown and we spent last week completing this part of the project. The children have each planted a sunflower seed, and each day they come to school they check to see if it has grown. They are very diligent about watering and caring for their seeds which is wonderful to see! Last week, most of the students' play consisted of big group play, running, and chasing each other in the forest. It’s clear they missed each other while we were away! They also excavated some interesting objects in the forest and put it on display on a wooden board; we have our very own exhibition of artifacts!
