Kindergarten Turtles: April 10-14, 2023

Greetings Turtle Families,

It was so nice to welcome everyone back from Spring Break!  The children were happy to see each other and play together.  We began a new circle that revolves around spring creatures, seeds, and plants, and incorporates a few cooperative movement games that keep the children engaged and giggling. It is always so impressive to watch the children learn the songs and rhymes so quickly!

On Monday, it was such a beautiful day, we decided to bring our painting lesson into the forest for the first time this school year.  The children enjoyed painting with blue and yellow and creating green.  It was nice to use our watercolors in a different setting.  We also had fun creating all week with a selection of brightly colored wooden beads.  Many beautiful pieces of jewelry were created to wear and share with friends and loved ones.

We visited the farm on Wednesday and weeded a section of the garden.  We also spent some time with the chickens.  On our walk to the farm, we visited the creek.  We did not go in the water as it is still too cold, but the children are all very excited to begin Creekcess again.  Please send in water shoes (hard-soled and closed-toe), to be kept at school, so we are prepared when it is time to start playing in the creek again.

On Thursday we celebrated Èowyn-Lys’ 6th birthday.  Her parents, sister, and baby brother visited our class and celebrated with us.  Her classmates and teachers shared a wish for the coming year.  Happy Birthday, Èowyn-Lys!
