Kindergarten Beavers: April 24-April 28, 2023

Greetings Dear Beaver Families,

Thank you for coming together to create our beautiful auction project and for all your time and support towards growing our Garden School! We couldn’t do what we do without our shared hope and vision for our children.

We rolled beeswax candles this week as part of our class auction project. The students enjoyed wrapping twine around the candle bundles and decorating them with orange slices, lavender, and cinnamon. Some students also made pictures out of wool roving by pulling off tufts of wool and designing a picture over a felt square, after their picture was completed the teacher needle felted it together. We also painted with three watercolor paints this past week and it was beautiful to see how adding one more color could make such a difference in our creations.

Last week we shared a story about Smush, the mighty ant, who walked a little bit slower than the other ants because he was accidentally stepped on once. Although he moved slower, he was very strong and very brave. The colony of ants was running out of their food supply and Smush determined to take his chances again and crawl out into the forest in search of food. Despite the critters and creatures in the forest being much bigger than him, he found them to be very helpful and friendly. Thanks to the help of his new forest friends, he was able to return to his kingdom with plenty of food. We shared this story as we are seeing a lot more ants on our platform and forest space lately and we want to make sure they know it’s a safe space for them too!

As always, thank you for all that you do and for sharing your children with us.
