THANK YOU everyone for the lovely gestures during Teacher Appreciation week. It is such a joy to spend the school year with your children, and be a part of their lives and yours.

We had so much fun creating and exploring in the forest this week. On Monday and Tuesday, students made sculptures and other creations out of mud. We placed a log in a special, sunny spot for them to dry safely, and the students were excited to check on them each day and inspect whether they were ready to take home or ready to use to decorate our class area. On Thursday, we visited the creek and played in the sand and water. Students found several beautiful rocks and gems, and even some small clams. A couple of students dug in the sand deep enough to reach water! On Tuesday, we visited the farm and had the opportunity to spend some time playing with our friends in First Grade.This week we saw several animal friends, including a rat snake, a garter snake, a blue heron, turtles, and lizards. They are enjoying the warm forest as much as we are!

The last week of school will be filled with fun activities and enjoying each others’ company. As a reminder, there is NO SHARED SNACK this week, and our activity schedule for the last week is as follows:

MONDAY: Bring your favorite stuffed animal

TUESDAY: Bring your favorite stuffed animal

WEDNESDAY: Field day (T/Th students welcome 8:45-12:30)

THURSDAY: Making homemade lemonade

FRIDAY: Watermelon

We are looking forward to this special time together, as well as a brief celebration of our Golden Knights, who will be moving on to first grade at the end of the school year. Please make sure to send water shoes and a change of clothing each day, as we will visit the creek as often as possible.
