Osiyo, River Otter families,

We had an amazing last week of forest kindergarten for the year! On Monday and Tuesday, students shared some of their favorite stuffed animals, who joined us for snack and rest time. Monday also brought time to play in the creek, and on Tuesday we visited the farm, where we played with our friends from the Joyful Beginnings class and saw the school’s three new chickens. Wednesday was field day, and we enjoyed practicing skills and having fun as we participated in bean bag toss, bowling, sponge and water relay, and parachute games. We also enjoyed popsicles and best of all, every student, regardless of what days they typically attend, were together for the entire morning. On Thursday, we squeezed lemons and made our own delicious lemonade, and on Friday we had a special play and enjoyed fresh watermelon slices. We also had a small special ceremony on Friday for our Golden Knights, who will be moving on to first grade next year.

Thank you all, students and families, for a magical 2022/23 school year in the River Otter kindergarten class. We all learned and grew so much together, and I will forever cherish the love and lessons each of your children shared with me, and with each other. Whether you are returning to kindergarten or first grade at The Garden School next year or beginning a new adventure, we will always be part of each other.

Please look out for your child’s End of Year Report to arrive in your email mid-June. If your child is attending The Garden School kindergarten program next year, the welcome letter from your child’s teacher will be emailed to you on June 12th.
