Kindergarten River Otters: November 29 - December 3

Osiyo, River Otter families,

It was wonderful to be back together after break. We hope everyone had the opportunity to rest and enjoy time with loved ones. The beautiful sunshine and warm temperatures made our days in the forest go by so quickly. Along with our typical work and play in the forest, this week some students began learning basic sewing skills. A few experienced sewers had the opportunity to make hand warmers. It is amazing to see how quickly they learn these skills when they are free to participate as they feel ready.  Throughout the last weeks of this semester and into next semester, students who are interested will have the opportunity to practice sewing and to make their own hand warmers to bring home, when they are ready.

On Friday our class participated in the Winter Spiral, a celebration of bringing our own individual light into the world. I am so incredibly proud of every student. They were patient and reverent, and it was my honor to be able to light their candles for them to place along the spiral.  Please watch the families Facebook group for photos of the walk taken by class member parent and amazingly gifted photographer, Linnea Geiger.
