Hi First Grade Families,

This week we continued our Form Drawing block. The first-grade class has been diligently developing their form drawing skills which in turn support the students with their writing of letters and numbers in future blocks. Guiding the class to see the connections between various forms and drawing pictures and handwriting increases their enthusiasm for our activities! Learning in this active and meaningful way is fun for all of us!

Next week we will be starting our first Language block. We will dive into stories that will help the students explore the letters and their sounds in an engaging way. They will have lots of opportunities to draw pictures that support phonetic connections and work on forming letters correctly. These experiences help the students understand and appreciate the letters in creative and imaginative ways.

It has been fun to watch the children grow and mature individually and form as a more cohesive class even in the short period of time that we have had together.

Reminders:

Remember to bring extra clothes daily, including rain gear.
8/27 will be a community work day.
