Kindergarten Beavers: May 2 - 6

Greetings Dear Beaver Families,

It was so good to be back in our forest with the children after spending the previous week at the Waldorf School of Atlanta for training. The children were deeply missed! We had a very full week together. We had creekcess two days in a row, painted flower pots for Mother’s Day, sewed beanbags, and crafted colorful wool butterflies. Ki Amy also brought us colorful chalk and the children had a lot of fun decorating and beautifying the tree stumps with them.

Students heard a story about a yellow flower bud who did not bloom all Summer long. While all the other flowers in the garden were big and beautiful, this yellow flower remained closed. Yet the flower was patient and did not complain; she admired the beauty of the other flowers and knew her time would come too. Some days were difficult, especially when the butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds would pass her by and drink nectar from the other flowers. Finally, towards the end of the summer, the yellow flower bloomed. It became the brightest and most beautiful flower in the whole garden and its nectar was the sweetest.

Reminders:

  • Please pack sun hats! While the forest does provide plenty of shade, sun hats are useful for when we go to the creek and during pickup time on hot, sunny days.

Thank you for all that you do! Thank you, also, for your continued support and making us teachers feel appreciated last week! We are very grateful for our community.

Warmly,

Ki Fatima
