Mountaingarten: Feb 25 - March 1

Dear Mountaingarten families,

We welcomed the week with three new Spring songs for our morning circle, by the time Friday came around, the children were already partially singing and following along with the movements.

A big thank you to Erin Sanchez for bringing in the tortoise and bearded dragon for Creature Feature, it was a lot of fun to see them up close and to touch and feel the texture of their skin.

We had a great turn out for Friday's Show and Tell. We looked through a book about sharks and tried to name as many as we could, we touched a beautiful crystal heart, giant pine cone, various stones, and a coin. One child brought in her very impressive mermaid painting, and another child brought in his finely crafted sock caterpillar, we also listened to a couple of sweetly sung songs!

Friday's assembly was also a joy to watch. Our Mountaineers did a wonderful job singing "Yonder Come Day" and a song in Mandarin. We loved the new addition of the Parents chorus too, it sounded so beautiful and in harmony- thank you!

We are excited to start the seeds that were gifted to us by Ki Kathee's class, we are hoping to get our hands in the garden this week!

May all be well.

Warmly,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

Mountaingarten: Feb 11 - 15

Dear Mountaingarten families,

We are excited to return back to school this week! Although our days were cut short the week before our break, they were full of good experiences and play.

We enjoyed the Gilgamesh play and were so impressed by everyone's good work and memorization skills! We were especially excited that our Golden Knights had a part in it as well, and they seemed to especially love being clad in white.

We celebrated Clarke's birthday and loved hearing his amazing birth story. Thank you Elizabeth and Dominic for being present and for the delicious treats!

Thank you to all who prepared sweet Valentine's day surprises to place in the children's bags.

Another special and furry surprise joined us in the forest as well. Ki Sonya brought her sweet pup who was so gentle with the children. They loved to touch her soft, white fur. Thank you Sonya.

A special thanks for taking time out of your day and joining us for parent teacher conferences, it was nice for us to meet again and discuss your child's progress and happy to hear they are happy at school.

May all be well.

With Gratitude,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

Meadowgarten: Feb 11 - 15

Dear Meadowgarten Familes,

We greatly enjoyed speaking with all of you about your wonderful children the week before break. We hope that you are happy with the information you received during conferences.  Please do no hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns moving forward.

The half days always seem to fly by so quickly! We spent the whole week outside in the forest, keeping up with all of the wonderful activities that the children love so much. Ki Serena called on volunteers to lead the color song during Mandarin class and we practiced our Sol (sun) song in Spanish class.  Our story this week was Stone Soup and the kids had so much fun telling Ki Holly what ingredients to add to the soup.  The Meadowgarteners had a lot of fun with our real soup snack this week as well.  We added a bean medley in with our veggies and we were guessing what types of beans we were eating.  We found lima beans, chick peas, black beans, great northern beans, split peas and many more!

We really enjoyed seeing the play “Gilgamesh” that was performed by the Upper Grades and our very own Golden Knights.  It was a very impressive performance by all!

We hope that everyone had time to relax and spend time with family and friends over the break and we are very excited to be back to school!

The weather looks mild in the week ahead and we can’t wait to start doing some arts and crafts and other practical work outside at our forest base camp!

Kindly,

Ki Amy and Ki Holly

Mountaingarten: Feb 4 - 8

Dear Mountaingarten families,

We are grateful for having another good week behind us.  We enjoyed a wonderful spring-like day midweek, followed by the cold again! The children have had fun determining what season it feels like during our morning circle over the course of the week.

In the garden, the children fed the animals, mined for crystals, repaired the little bridge, made stone soup, and saw the new daffodils blooming in bunches. We collected a few and placed them in a glass to brighten up our classroom.

In the forest, the children made their own workstation. They excavated a giant rock that they discovered is easy to break into pieces. Together they worked to turn the stone into sand. They’ve made quiet a pile!

We also enjoyed what the children brought for show and tell including stones, stones carved into the shape of a dinosaur, a song, and a seashell.

Inside the classroom some of us drew and finger knitted. Sungarten liked turning the two kindergarten classrooms into one large classroom on Tuesday and Thursday. The children learned a story during the course of the week about a man and his dog named Spot, who rescued a little bird.

We celebrated Pauls’s 6th birthday this week too. Happy birthday Pauls! Thank you for the delicious brownies.

We hope everyone has a good week ahead. Some rainy days are upon us so please make sure your child comes to school with waterproof boots!

Thank you and may you be well,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

If you are buying fruits and vegetables for the week, please buy organic if possible and available, especially if the fruit or veggie is on the dirty dozen list.

Also, for those who are bringing in treats for birthdays. Kindly send us the ingredient list or post them on the Facebook families group so that we can see who may want to pack a separate treat for their child. Thank you!

Meadowgarten: Feb 4 - 8

Greetings Meadowgarten Families,

We had another wonderful week in the Meadowgarten, enjoying the sunshine and spring temperatures!

On Tuesday, we celebrated Medha’s half birthday, as she turns 5 over summer break.  She looked so nice in her special dress and the children enjoyed seeing pictures of Medha from the time she was a baby.  Thank you to Medha’s parents for the sweet treats enjoyed by all!

This week in the forest and on the playground, the children discovered worms, slugs, and ants.  What a change from the ice that filled the grounds last week! They built fairy houses, climbed trees, played on the rope swing, and got very muddy in the mud kitchen! In addition, the students could be seen at their “work bench” turning rocks into sand.  They collected certain types of rocks that they discovered would break down and set up a system of grinding, smashing and grating.  It was so fun to watch them work together!

This week we told a story called “The Mitten,” in which little Nikki loses his white mitten in the sparkling white snow, only to discover much later that many forest animals had taken shelter in it, stretching it to the size of Nikki himself. We all laughed together at the end of the story each time it was told.

It was our week to take care of the school pet, our turtle.  The Meadowgartener’s enjoyed sitting near his tank after finishing their lunch, watching him swim, float and eat his food.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at conferences this week!

Kindly,

 Ki Amy and Ki Holly

Meadowgarten: January 28 - Feb 1

Greetings Meadowgarten Families,

Winter’s Icy Fist was definitely upon us this past week in the mornings and the Meadowgarteners enjoyed finding ice in all shapes and sizes in the forest. The afternoons warmed up nicely, allowing us to shed some layers during afternoon playground time.  It was fun to watch the large puddle on the playground turn from solid ice to water later in the day.

On Thursday, we enjoyed the morning as “Sungarten.”  We have coined this term for times when Mountain and Meadow are together as one class.  Sungarten enjoyed indoor playtime with the curtain pulled as we returned to the classroom earlier than planned due to cold temperatures.  During this time, the children were able to work on a sewing craft that they loved!  We will continue to work on this craft in the classroom over the next week or so.

We are thankful to Ki Holly for baking bread for our Wednesday snack the past few weeks.  It is delicious! We will start kneading the dough for bread in the classroom with the children so that they can be part of this special process.

Thank you for joining us at the First Friday Assembly.  We were very proud of the Meadowgarteners’ beautiful singing voices!

There is still a large amount of mud and water and in forest so please continue to send your child in warm, waterproof boots.  Please avoid sending your child in sneakers for forest play, as it is very difficult for their feet to stay dry and warm in them.

Thank you!

Ki Amy and Ki Holly

Mountaingarten: January 28 - Feb 1

Last week we enjoyed cold, wet, and beautiful sunshine-filled days together. On Monday, the children had their first German class with Ki Sandy, it went really well and they seemed to pick up German pretty quickly!

Tuesday and Thursday the children got to enjoy being Sungarten again. Trees were climbed, mud cakes were made, ice was scavenged for, and songs were sung!

We saw impressive teamwork in the forest this week as the children took turns pulling each other on the tire, which is no small thing to pull!

On our way to see the animals, the children were mesmerized by the frozen lake, we gazed at it a while before going on our way.

In the classroom, we continue to work on cleaning our areas after we've finished eating and tucking in our chairs. Some children sewed beads onto felted hearts.

The children did a really well on last Friday's assembly. They sang a surprise birthday song for Ki Aja, the Golden Knights recited "Brave and True", and as a group they finished with "Yonder Come Day."

May all be well.

Warmly,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

Meadowgarten: Jan 22 - 25

Greetings Meadowgarten Families!

We had a wonderful week last week in the Meadowgarten.  We built a fire almost every morning in the forest to keep warm during the brisker temperatures.  The children helped to collect firewood and sort it into bundles of small, medium and large pieces.  We found beautiful pieces of ice throughout the forest, went on “bear hunts,” and worked hard in our mud kitchen, making all kinds of delicious baked treats and soups.

Mandarin class was especially fun for the children this week.  Up until now, Ki Serena has spoken only in Mandarin to the children.  She is now explaining to them the English translation for many of the phrases and words they have learned.  It was so much fun to watch the children light up as they grasped a deeper understanding of the Mandarin language!  We are so happy to now have Ki Serena with us two days per week!

Thursday was also a very special day.  Ki Sonya organized a “Creature Feature” event where our students were able to see and learn about various reptiles and amphibians.  We attended this event with our Mountain friends and enjoyed our soup snack together at the picnic tables afterward.

Please make sure that your Meadowgartener comes to school with warm, waterproof boots for play in the forest.  The recent rains have left many muddy and wet areas in the forest and it is important for their feet to stay dry.  Also, if their coat does not have a hood, please make sure to sent a hat so that their head can stay toasty warm as well.

Thank you!

Ki Amy and Ki Holly

Mountaingarten: Jan 22 - 25

Last week was a wonderful first week back. We celebrated Walter's birthday and Max's half birthday. We would like to thank Amy and Mike for bringing in a snack for Max's half birthday, and Linnea for bringing in a snack to share for Walter's birthday.

While in the forest area, the children were able to see the ice forming in the trees and continue to work diligently on their fairy homes. Tuesdays and Thursdays we will become Sungarten where we will be joining the Meadow class for our morning activities.

The children were able to participate in Creature Feature where they were able to view and touch lizards, salamanders, frogs, and snakes. The children enjoyed the snake the most and were excited to be able to touch him.

The children also enjoyed having our adopted turtle in our classroom over the week, they had lots of fun watching and feeding him.

On Friday, the children participated in show and tell, where they brought in items such as a mirror, crystal stones, moss, a picture of the child's baseball team, a yoga bowl, stones, and some sang the ABC song.

Reminders:

Parent/teacher conference is the week of February 11.

Mountaingarten: Jan 14 - 18

Dear Mountaingarten parents,

It’s wonderful to be back to school after a very lengthy break! We were really missing the children and happy to see everyone back and healthy!

It didn’t take us long to get back into the swing of things. We had a few new surprises this past week too which made it extra exciting. Our new Spanish teacher, Ki Evelyn, joined us and seemed to hit it off really well with the children.

We also got to experience various train layouts from the Southern Museum of Kennesaw, the children especially loved the freight train that was carrying various dinosaurs which they could name! Ki Aja has started the Golden Knights, which the older kids have been asking about and looking forward to for a long time now- they’re working on letters, drawings, and this week they took a nature walk and looked for letter shapes in nature.

A gentle reminder- this Saturday we have a community work day for those who are able to come lend a helping hand or two!

May all be well  :-)

Warmly,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

Meadowgarten: Jan 14 - 18

Hi Meadowgarten Families!

It was wonderful to be back together this past week in the Meadowgarten! The children were hard at play all week long.  We are thankful to Don Andres for building a raised platform at our Basecamp in the forest over the break.  We loved having our snack and foreign language classes there each day.

The Meadowgarteners were so eager to return to our forest activities this week.  It was hard to tear ourselves away at lunch time!  They were busy preparing “smoothies” and “baked goods” in the mud kitchen, collecting firewood for our daily fires, playing in the newly built fort, building fairy houses, and even chopping down a dead tree!

Our older students began the Golden Knights program with Ki Aja this past week where they are engaging in first grade readiness activities.  They returned to us each day with big smiles and rave reviews! We are excited to see our rising first graders take this important leap toward their future academic development.

We started grating soap this week as part of our practical work.  The children took this work very seriously and we already filled up a large container!  The next step will be to fill soap dispensers with a mixture of the grated soap and water and deliver fresh soap to the bathrooms and kitchen.

Ki Amanda has come to the difficult decision to move on from the Garden School having accepted another position while preparing for nursing school later this spring. This week will be Ki Amanda’s last week with us and we are looking forward to a smooth transition welcoming Ki Holly as our new teacher along with Ki Amy.

Please remember to send an uncut, unwashed vegetable to school every Tuesday or Wednesday. Vegetables can be placed in the picnic basket on the picnic table outside.

Kindergarten: Dec 10 - 14

This past week has been different for both Mountaingarten and Meadowgarten. We have decided that for these two weeks we will be combining are smaller classes to make the Sungarten class.

The children enjoyed playing in the forest together, where they built a large fort out of sticks. Sungarten had show and tell as well. Students brought in bug houses, a homemade flower pot, a special stone, a feather, and we had students sing the ABCs and a student who sung a song about his father.

Thursday and Friday the class was able to participate in an important event called the advent spiral. It was a beautiful ceremony that the students took very seriously. They handled the apple and candle with care and placed it on the star.

Reminders:

Thursday is half day and the start of our Winter vacation

Have a wonderful and safe holiday, and we will see you in the New Year.

Warm regards,

Sungarten

Mountaingarten: Dec 3 - 7

Greetings Mountain families,

This past week we warmed our bodies by the fire and cooked delicious meals over it including apple crisp and potatoes with peppers. While the weather has been cold, the children have still been able to have their usual fun as they're dressed in many layers.

Friday's assembly was great, we enjoyed watching the other classes present what they've been working on over the course of the last few weeks, and mountain also got to share their songs and poems they've learned. They all did very well!

We look forward to the Advent ceremony this week!

Stay warm everyone.

Thank you,

Ki Fatima & Ki Aja

Meadowgarten: Dec 3 - 7

Hello Meadowgarten families!

We had a wonderful last week at school. The temperatures were brisk, but the rain held off, and students were appropriately dressed for success!

We introduced our new winter circle this week, and we also practiced for our Friday assembly with “I’m Gonna Mail Myself to You” and the “Winter Canon” song. We’ve attached the lyrics below!

This week, some of our practical work included collecting firewood for our near daily fire and clearing trails with the rake. Meadowgarteners discovered how to make balance boards, or nature see-saws, which were a main interest this week. Students worked together to compile the balance boards, then they explored the magic of balancing with friends. Where do 2 people need to stand on one side to balance out the 1 friend on the other side?
We explored the boardwalk- walking with our fox feet and deer ears to explore what we could see and hear. Students found a silent place to sit while we observed the world around us. On our nature walks, we often walk with fox feet (walking with the outside edge of the foot first, then rolling inward in order to keep silent!) and deer ears (with our hands cupped behind our ears to help us hear better). This week we observed ducks, woodpeckers, rabbits, a hawk, tadpoles and more.

On Thursday, we celebrated Novi’s 4th birthday. Her father baked amazing cupcakes and Novi brought some of her favorite snacks to share - seaweed and snap pea crisps! We also shared our soup snack with the toddler classroom- it was very sweet to see the meadowgarteners open up our circle for the toddlers and wanting the little ones to sit with them.

As the days get colder, students are excited to discover ice throughout our forest play area. As we try to keep to dry play when the days are so cold, students often forget that playing with ice (and hopefully snow, one day!) makes their hands chilly! We’ve been discussing these chilly hand consequences with the meadowgarteners. Sometimes the thin-layer gloves are not enough to keep their hands warm, so if you have more substantial gloves, please send these with your child.

Otherwise, thanks you all so much for bundling your children up for outdoor play.  We understand it can be difficult, but it is much appreciated. The forest is typically a few degrees cooler than what we experience in the meadow or playground. Layers are crucial- especially on the legs!

Please remember to send your child with an unwashed, uncut vegetable on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week.  The students love looking for their own veggie in Thursday’s soup!

Up the Misty Mountain:

Part 1:

Up the misty mountain, down the valley low

March the merry mountain folk, Ho, Ho, Ho

We’ll cut the magic crystal, we’ll cut the stars a-glow

We’ll turn them into snowflakes and

Make it snow, snow, snow (Repeat)

Part 2:

We are woods folk, sawing trees

Sawing, sawing, sawing trees.

We don’t stop for winter weather,

We keep sawing all together.

We are woods folk, sawing trees

Sawing, sawing, sawing trees.

The tree falls down with a great big crash

Now it’s time to take our axe.

We chop and chop with all our might

To cut some wood for the fire tonight

We carry all our logs along

Singling gaily this merry a-song

Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la, Tra-la-la-la-la-la-la

Put your logs on the tree stump – get your axes ready (Said by teacher)

We are working, working hard.

Chopping firewood in our yard

Hold the chopper, hold it tight,

Lift it high with all your might.

Chopping, chopping, chop, chop, chop.

Merrily the pieces drop

It’s the finest game you know

Makes us warm from head to toe

Now a bundle we will tie

We’ll put it in the shed to dry

Chopping, chopping

Chop, chop, chop

Merrily the pieces drop

I’m Gonna Mail Myself to You!

(chorus) I’m gonna wrap myself in paper

I’m gonna dab myself with glue

Stick some stamps on the top of my head,

‘Cause I’m gonna mail myself to you!

Verse 1: I’m gonna tie me up in red string,

I’m gonna tie blue ribbon too.

I’m gonna run right in my mailbox,

‘Cause I’m gonna mail myself to you!

Chorus

Verse 2: When you see me in your mailbox

Cut the strings and let me out!

Wash the glue off of my fingers,

And put some bubble gum in my mouth

(Chew 3x, blow a bubble 3x, then POP!)

Chorus

Verse 3: Take me out of that wrapping paper

And wash the stamps off of my head.

Pour me full of warm hot cocoa

And put me in my nice, warm, bed.

Winter Canon

When winter pounds it’s icy fist

Upon our kitchen door,

We’ll never let it in

No, never let it in,

Though he may rage and roar.

Though he may rage and roar,

We’ll not let him in the door.

Meadowgarten: Nov 26-30

Hello Meadowgarten Families!

Last week was full of adventures for our Meadowgarteners.  On Monday, the students worked together to clear a spot in the woods for our new Base Camp.  The first spot we chose is prone to puddles when it rains so we chose a new spot that we hope will remain drier through wet weather.  We hope to add a tarp or other structure above our heads so that we can enjoy snack, foreign language and other activities, rain or shine!

On Tuesday, we enjoyed a fire on the playground in the morning and ate our rice bowls in the sunshine at the picnic tables.  Rice bowls seems to be the crowd favorite when it comes to snack time!

On Wednesday, the children discovered the first patches of ice throughout the forest.  This was extremely exciting for them and it was delightful to watch them engage in winter-inspired forest play!   We also made butter while in the forest and served it with bread and jam around the fire.  In the afternoon we washed and chopped veggies for Thursday’s soup.  It was fun to watch the children take pride in chopping their very own vegetables.

Thursday and Friday were full of sunshine, leaf piles, fort building, and discovering fun forest creatures such as slugs, worms, bugs, a newt, and a bunny rabbit.  We took snack compost to the learning farm and had a nice visit with our animal friends.  We also started learning some fun, new winter songs.

Thanks to all of the Meadowgarten families for bundling your children up for outdoor play.  Everyone was dry and comfortable through the changing temperatures this past week.

Please remember to send your child with an unwashed, uncut vegetable on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week. The students love looking for their own veggie in Thursday’s soup!

Mountaingarten: November 26- 30

This past week has been a new fresh start for the children, as we have changed the schedule to ensure that the children are getting enough outside time. The children were able to run and play freely in the forest. The children jumped into mud, made fairy houses and forts, and used imaginative play with the rocks.

With the class being outside during the snack we will be making most of the snacks on our campfire. On Thursday the children were able to eat potatoes made on the camp fire, and Friday the children were treated to pizza from over the camp fire.

Friday the class had show and tell, and almost every student brought an item or told a story. A couple of the items include a T-Rex made of rock that was originally make in Pakistan, a first tooth, a turkey project, and a yoga bowl.

Reminders:

This upcoming Friday we will have our assembly, and it will be half day. Per usual, dismissal will be outside, weather permitting.

Teachers are asking to have assistance on Monday mornings at 7:30 for set up and Fridays at 3:00 pm for take down.

Thank you,

Ki Aja and Ki Fatima

Meadowgarten: Nov 12 - 16

Greetings Meadowgarten Families!

We hope that everyone enjoyed a wonderful, relaxing holiday with family and friends.  We are excited to hear about all of the adventures that were had by the children.  In light of the time off, we would like to offer a few important reminders as we jump back into the school routine.

Please send your meadowgartener with two full changes of clothing.  If possible, please place the second change of clothing in a clear bag labeled with their name.  We will keep this change of clothes in the classroom to decrease the amount of items traveling back and forth from home.

Also, even thought he forecast shows sunny skies this week, please still send your child with rain gear and an extra pair of shoes.  The forest may still be muddy and wet and we would like the children to be prepared for wet play each day!

We have noticed that the forest tends to be about five degrees cooler so please keep this in mind when dressing your child.  A heavy coat with layers underneath will ensure that the children are warm enough at all times.

Lastly, please remember to send your child with an uncut, unwashed vegetable on Tuesday or Wednesday of each week.  We will chop these veggies together and enjoy them in our soup on Thursdays.

Mountaingarten: Nov 12 - 16

The past week had been fun filled. The students participated in building blocks, marble painting, knitting finger chains, cutting up our vegetables, water color painting, turtle watching, and feeding the animals.

The class celebrated Daniel's birthday, where the children were able to enjoy delicious brownies brought in by Daniel's mother.

The students were told a story about Snow Rose. Who rescued her seven brothers from being swans by singing the ABC's. Monday through Wednesday the students were able to  listen to the story, and on Thursday they were able to reenact the story while the teacher narrated.
The children's imagination was running wild with stories for show and tell. Several of the students made stories up about animals, babies, Halloween, and snakes. A student brought a book about his favorite animal, the snake, while another student sang the ABC's.
We want to thank the parents who came in on Friday for our Thanksgiving lunch, and brought in food to share with everyone.

Reminders:
There were a couple of children not appropriately dressed for the weather. The temperature is very cold in the mornings when we go outside.  Emails have gone out to parents. Please ensure that your child is dressed for the cold weather.

Fridays are show and tell, even during the half days.

Mountaingarten: Nov. 5th - 14th

This past week was a lot of fun and very wet. The children participated in making cards for the soldiers, feeding the animals, cutting up vegetables, making their own little rolls of bread, felt necklaces and water painting and adding a touch of glitter. The children continue to enjoy their time with Ki Nina where they are able to relax with yoga prior to having rest time.

Throughout the week we are able to play in the forest with meadowgarten and take nature walks where the children hunt for turtles in the pond. Some children enjoyed splashing in the puddles, and would make sure that they were covered from head to toe in mud.

The children were told the story of a red robin whose broken wing prohibited him from flying South for the winter. The bird continued to go to different types of trees, and each tree turned him down. When the Red Robin came to an Evergreen tree, the Evergreen tree let the bird in and kept him safe and warm for the winter. On Thursday the children were able to reenact the story that had been told to them, with the help of Ki Fatima as the narrator.

On Thursday the children enjoyed a warm chamomile tea with their snack.

A new poem has been introduced to the children that they will continue to work on throughout the next couple of weeks:

Have you seen the wind?

Neither  you nor I.

But when the leaves are trembling.

The wind is passing by.

Have you seen the wind?

Neither I not you.

But when the tree bark bows its head.

The wind is passing through.

For show and tell the students brought in a pamphlet of snakes, an invention, a student brought a snack he had made, and a dinosaur tooth.

Reminders:

All students must have a rain suit or a rain jacket and rain pants. If the student is not prepared for the rainy outdoor weather the parents will be called for them to bring in a coat or to pick the child up.

Please ensure that your child has an extra pair of clothing. It is preferred that there are 2 extra pair of clothes because some children are muddy prior to school starting. If they do not have an extra pair of clothing, and are muddy/wet parents will be called to come bring them extra clothes or to be picked up.

Children should have at lease two pairs of shoes. Each child should have a pair of rain boots.

Meadowgarten: Nov 5th - Nov 12th

Hello Meadow Families!

We've got a cold and wet week up ahead! Please drop your child off in their warm layers and rain gear. This makes our morning transition into the forest much faster.

We will also be asking that each meadowgartener brings 2 changes of clothes for this week. We will be keeping one change of clothes at school for emergencies, so in the future, you will only need to bring one change of clothes to school. If possible, please send in a gallon baggie with their name on it.

Our week started with some beach play and sand castle building which we haven't done since the weather's turned colder! But donned in our rain gear, the kids had a blast. We have spent our mornings in the forest- including our Spanish and snack- in rain or shine! We hung a tarp so we have a rain shelter when eating, and during snack, the children's discussions revolved around camping at school since we now have an outdoor "shelter"! Our classroom switch has given us more freedom because of its proximity to the bathrooms and ability to change muddy clothes easier.

We hope the pictures give a nice representation of our days at our beautiful school.

In good nature,

Ki Amy and Ki Amanda
